Why Meditation WOD?
Human potential and human performance is more than a physical subject. Without the mind the body dies. Often in the athletic world we equate mental fitness with mental toughness- the mental capacity to willingly face the harsh physical requirements of sport and survival. MotivWod agrees that mental “toughness” is a part of mental fitness BUT it is NOT all of it.
This kind of mental prowess, that boosts our egos, must become balanced with mental capacity that humbles us and keeps us grounded as respectable, inspiring leaders and guiding-servants of our communities. The only way to gain that is to face our personal issues with maturity- the basic idea that all humans are imperfect, make mistakes and must free ourselves from the prison of our past. Then we must learn what our “spark” is- the thing(s) that we enjoy doing so much we would do it for free and how we can use that to make a difference in our world.
Success of any type becomes a waste if we are unable to respond maturely to that success. Without mature response we cannot fully appreciate what we have gained. Neither can we successfuly pass it on to others who need it. Obviously, this leads to deficiency of leadership in various arenas of our lives.
The daily WOD of CrossFit empowers us to become physically exceptional humans. Motivation WOD empowers us to become mentally and spiritually exceptional. Exceptional physical capacity coupled with exceptional mental-spiritual capacity is what will be a revolution unmatched in the emerging new world.
We need to get back to our human roots of “invisible” awareness- being conscious of things we can feel or can tap into on the inside, between the ears and within the deepest part of our self. Learning how to respond to those “invisble” things in a positive and synergistic way is the wisdom we must gain.
